CBSE is conducting the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) on May 5, 2013 for aspirants who wish to choose medical career such as MBBS, BDS, etc. The upcoming NEET Exam 2013 has replaced All India Pre-medical test.

SSC CGL 2013 Paper Postponed(Cancelled) – New Exam Date & Admit Cards

In a shocking news today, SSC has postponed the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2013 which was to be held on 14th April 2013 and now it will be held on 28th April 2013 (Sunday). This come as a shock to all the candidates who were preparing day and night for the SSC CGL preparation.

According to the information on the regional websites such as http://sscnr.net.in/, http://www.sscmpr.org/, http://www.ssc-cr.org/, and official website www.ssc.nic.in(Click here for the link), the examination has been postponed on account of closed holiday due to birthday of Dr. BR Ambedkar. This is the second time, such thing has happened as FCI exam was also canceled due to the mismanagement of SSC. It seems SSC new chief is not able to handle things properly. Many people are also claiming that there is something fishy going on in the Staff Selection Commission. Read this tweet(dated March 6, 2013) by SSC Ex Chief N.K.RAGHUPATHY claiming that “There may be pressure on SSC to postpone the CGL exam because someone’s ward is appearing for some other exam on that day!”

Another shock regarding the postponement is that the new exam date is clashing with SBI PO exam. So, students now would have to choose either of these exams. Many students are planning to visit SSC regional offices and request in written to change the date of April 28 to May 5, 2013. You are also requested to visit SSC office or leave them an Email or Fax to strengthen the objection and help thousand of students who want to give both the CGL and SBI PO exams.

Update: SSC has updated the Central region website with the new CGL exam date for the students whose paper was on April 14, 2013. The CGL Exam 2013 now will be held on May 19, 2013. The Junior Engineers (Civil and Electrical) Exam 2013 which was scheduled to be conducted on May 19, 2013 will now be conducted on June 9, 2013. UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination 2013 Notification, Syllabus,& Paper Pattern

Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) has published the notification for combined Medical Services Examination 2013 to fill out various services/posts in government departments such as Railways, Municipal Corporation, etc.

Important Dates:

Issue of Notification: April 6, 2013
Last Date To Apply Online: May 6, 2013
Date of Written Examination: June 30, 2013

How To Apply:

Candidates are required to apply online at www.upsconline.nic.in. All thr other details regarding the application procedure are given on this mentioned website. The admit card of eligible candidates will be available three weeks before the commencement of the examination.

Age Limit:

Not more than 32 years as on January 1, 2013. Candidate must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1981. (Relaxation is allowed as per government norms.

Schedule of Examination:

Part 1: The candidates will take the written examination in two papers. Each carrying 250 marks and is of 2 hours.

Part 2: Personality test carrying 100 marks.

There is also negative marking for wrong answers.

Posts, Syllabus and Pay Scale:

The pay scale is Pay band-3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100 with grade pay of Rs. 5,400. For more details about posts, syllabus and pay scale, read the notification here.

IBPS Clerical Phase 2 Combined Result (Written+Interview) 2013

IBPS has declared the combined result of Clerical Phase 2 (Written+Interview) 2013 and the preference of banks registration schedule to fill out vacancies. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) conducted the online written test(CWE) of clerical phase 2 in December, 2013. The interviews of shortlisted candidates in the CWE were conducted in March, 2013.

IBPS Clerical Phase 2 Combined Result (Written+Interview) 2013:

The marks are given out of 100. The weightage is given to both written test(80%) and interview marks(20%). For example, if you have scored 140 out of 200 in written exam and 60 out of 100 in interview, then your combined score would be 68(80% of written marks would be 56 and 20% of interview marks would be 12).

IBPS Clerical Phase 2 Expected Cutoffs 2013:

The expected cutoffs for the final selection in the IBPS Clerk Phase 2 will be around 63-64+ in the combined score of the examination. Maximum number of candidates are in the range of 63-65, so there will be much competition in this range.

IBPS Clerical Phase 2 Preference Registration 2013:

The preference registration for banks would start from April 15, 2013 as per the notification published by IBPS. You can read the notification here. The number of vacancies is around 40,000 all over India. You can find out the no. of vacancies in respective states in the notification link given above. Final selection would complete by the end of May, 2013.

SSC Junior Hindi Translators & Hindi Pradhyapak Examination 2013

SSC invites applications from the eligible candidates for the Combined All India Open Examination for recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices), Hindi Pradhyapak(Central Hindi Training Institute) and Junior/Senior Translators under Ministry of Defence.

Important Dates:

Date of Online Notification: April 1, 2013
Last Date of Receiving Application: April 19, 2013
Date of Examination: June 2, 2013

Paper Pattern:

The examination would comprise of a written examination followed by personal interview.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 30 years. (Relaxation is allowed as per government norms.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Junior Hindi Translators; Master’s Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects. For Hindi Pradhyapak; Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects. For more details, read out the notification published on the SSC website.

Scheme of Examination:

The paper is divided into two parts.

Part 1(Written Examination): 400 Marks. It would consists of two paper. Paper 1 includes General English and General Hindi of 200 marks. Paper 2 includes translation and essay of 200 marks.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2013 Notification, Syllabus, Posts, & Apply Online

Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) finally issued the notification for Engineering Services Examination(ESE) 2013. Engineering Services Examination is a combined examination for the recruitment of various services/posts related to engineering such Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Comm. Engg., Civil Engg., and Mechanical Engineering in government departments like Defence, Roads, Railways, etc.

Date of Notification: April 6, 2013
Last Date To Apply: May 6, 2013
Date of Examination: June 28, 2013

How To Apply:

It is now mandatory to apply online Engineering Services Examination 2013 on the official website of UPSC i.e. http://upsconline.nic.in/.
The registration is divided into two parts just like the SSC exams registration. You can apply online here.

Number of Posts:

The expected no. of posts that will be filled on the basis ESE 2013 is 763(including all reservations).

Negative Marking:

There will be penalty for wrong answers in the Objective Type questions.

JEE Mains 2013 Answer Key, Cutoff & Result

JEE Mains 2013 exam was conducted by CBSE on April 7, 2013. The exam was conducted in two parts:

Paper I: 09:30 AM to 12.30 PM
Paper II: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM

If various sources are to be believed, more than 12 Lacs candidates appeared in the JEE Mains exam 2013. This exam has now replaced the AIEEE exam. Now the JEE Mains exam would be the only criteria to get admissions in all the premier engineering colleges including IITs. Top 1.5 lakhs candidates who will qualify JEE( Joint Entrance Examination) Mains will be eligible for the JEE Advanced exam 2013. JEE Main Exam results will make sixty percent of the total marks required to qualify for JEE Advanced. Rest forty percent will be counted from Class 12th Board Result.

SSC FCI Tier 2(Mains) Answer Key, Cutoff & Results 2013

SSC conducted the FCI Tier 2(Mains) exam 2013 on April 7, 2013. It was the re-examination of this paper which was earlier canceled due to the mismanagement by Staff Service Commission.

About SSC FCI Tier 2(Mains) Exam 2013:

The SSC FCI Mains Exam 2013 was of two hours. There were 200 questions in total – 100 questions of English Language carrying 1 mark each and 50 questions of Quantitative Methods carrying 2 marks each. There is a also a negative marking of 0.25(1/4).

After talking to many aspirants, it was revealed that paper was not as tough as it was expected especially English section was relatively easy. Even Quantitative methods section was also normal(Not much easy, not tough).

Update: After talking to more aspirants in the last week, it seems though the exam was easy, the cut off still would be more or less same like previous year. So, keep your hopes high.

Punjab State Education Board(PSEB) Class 12th Result Announced

Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) conducts the board exams for all the state board schools in Punjab and Chandigarh. The state board conducted the board exam for Class 12th in the month of March, 2013. Around 5 lacs candidates have appeared for the PSEB Class 12th board exams in 2013.
