IBPS RRB PO Analysis, Cutoff & Results 2013

IBPS conducted the Common Written Examination for the recruitment of Group A Officers (Scale 1, 2 & 3) in Regional Rural banks in October, 2013. The exam was conducted online through out the country.

IBPS RRB Group A Officers Exam Analysis 2013:

There were total 200 questions divided into five sections of 40 questions each. Reasoning and Maths were of 50 marks each. Computer was of 20 marks. English and GK of 40 marks each.

The exam was quite easy overall but little time consuming in sections such as Maths and Reasoning. The pattern and questions were similar to all the IBPS exams conducted before.

General Awareness section was focused on current affairs, Banking and Financial awareness.

As the number of vacancies in RRB is less, the cutoff is expected to be high – more than 130(For General candidates) in various states. In some states, it may be on the lower side also.

Grade A & B Posts in NABARD 2013(Assistant Manager & Manager)

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) invites online Applications from the eligible candidates for the recruitment of 67 Grade A & B Posts in NABARD 2013.

SSC CGL 2014 Notification – Expected Dates

In a great news to the aspiring candidates, Sunil K. Ranjan(DEPUTY REGIONAL DIRECTOR – North Western Region) has announced in his Facebook post that SSC CGL 2014 would be conducted as per the same schedule.
The announcement has been made after Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram austerity measures announced today to cut non-plan expenditure by 10 per cent.

Aiming to restrict the fiscal deficit to 4.8 per cent of GDP in 2013-14, the Finance Ministry has ordered all ministries and departments not to buy new vehicles, create new jobs or fill posts lying vacant for over one year.

The notification for SSC CGL 2014 would be published on January 18, 2014. Last date to apply would be Feb. 14, 2014 and Tier 1 examination would be conducted on April 27 and May 4, 2014.

Current Repo Rate, Reverse Repo Rate, CRR, SLR, MSF & Bank Rate

The new RBI Governor Mr. Raghuram Rajan has raised the repo rate by 25 basis points to 7.5% and reduced the MSF rate by 75 basis points to 9.5% from 10.25%. Other rates such as CRR kept unchanged in his first monetary policy review after taking over as the RBI governor.

These measure were taken to curb the inflation, tighten liquidity and arrest volatility in the foreign exchange market. The RBI also reduced the minimum daily maintenance of the cash reserve ratio from 99% of the requirement to 95%. Reserve Bank of India also said that any further change in the minimum daily maintenance of the CRR is not contemplated.

Current Rates(Updated March 22, 2014):

1) Bank Rate – 9 %

2) Repo Rate – 8 %

3) Reverse Repo Rate – 7 %

4) Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) – 4 %

5) Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) – 23%

6) Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) – 9 %

Bharatiya Mahila Bank – India’s first women’s bank invites applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of 115 posts of PO(Probationary Officers) in 2013.
The new bank is headquartered at Delhi and it will start its operations from November 1, 2013 with six Branches.

SEBI Grade A Officer Answer Key, Cutoff & Results 2013

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) conducted the written exam for the recruitment of Officer Grade A on September 15, 2013. You can read the SEBI Grade A Notification here.

About SEBI Grade A Officers Written Exam:

The written exam was of two hours and included 200 questions of 200 marks. There were four sections viz. English, Reasoning, Maths and General Awareness.
Each section was of 50 marks.

English was the easiest section among all. Reasoning and Maths were time consuming but on the easier side. General awareness section was focused on the current affairs and banking awareness.

As number of vacancies are 75 and candidates shortlisted for the interview would be around 3-5 times of number of vacancies, the cutoff is expected to be more than 130.

IB ACIO Answer Key(Intelligence Bureau), Cut Off & Results 2013

Intelligence Bureau Exam was conducted on September 15, 2013 for the recruitment of 750 posts of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer. The objective+descriptive written exam was conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA). You can read the IB ACIO 2013 notification here.

About IB ACIO Written Exam:

The written exam was of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It consists of 100 objective questions of 100 marks and 1 English Essay of 50 marks. More than 65 questions were based on General awareness and rest of the questions were based on Maths, Reasoning and English.

General Awareness questions were moderate to high level in difficulty. Rest of the questions were fairly easy.

NICL(National Insurance) AO 2013 – Exam Review, Cutoff & Results

National Insurance Company Limited(NICL) conducted the written exam for the selection of Administrative Officers(AO) – (Generalist and Specialist) in four general insurance companies. The written exam was conducted on September 8, 2013.

The paper pattern of the Exam includes 100 objective questions for 100 marks and 50 marks for descriptive part. The total time was of 3 hours.

NICL(National Insurance) AO 2013 – Exam Review:

Numerical Aptitude & Computer:

Mathematics questions were very essay but computer section was tough(around 10 questions) for candidates with little to average knowledge of computers.

Some of the questions of this section(based on memory):
1) Bits in 8K RAM
2) 1201*1201
3) Which network is packet switching network.
4) RAM is short memory because…etc.

Reasoning:

One of the most easiest section of the entire exam. Except 2-3 questions, all the questions were easy.

Some of the questions of this section(based on memory):
1) Missing Number
2) How many rectangles are there in the figure.
3) Relation Questions.
4) 5:6:8:?…etc.

General Awareness:

The level of toughness of GK section was moderate. Questions based on current affairs and basic general knowledge.

Some of the questions of this section(based on memory):
1) 2000th Test Match between India and …?
2) Alternative name for food security(PDA)
3) Think Different’ slogan is of which company.
4) Country with highest literacy rate…etc.

English:

The level of toughness of English section was easy to moderate. Questions based on common errors, antonyms, synonyms, direct-indirect, etc.

Descriptive English:

The total marks of descriptive English are 50. It was divided into three sections viz. Comprehension(20 marks), Essay(20 marks) and Precis(10 marks).

The topics of Essay were How Mobile Phones are changing the way we communicate, Economic Meltdown and Privatization of Insurance.

SO, overall the paper was easy.

NICL(National Insurance) AO 2013 – Cutoff and Results:

The cutoff is expected to be very high this time as there was enough time to do the exam easily and questions were easy. The overall cutoff out of 150 marks is expected to be more than 100 marks.
