1. When Sum and Diff of two numbers (X and Y) are given,
then
X = (sum + diff)/2
Y = (sum – diff)/2

2. Diff between two digits of two
digit number is =(Diff in original and interchanged number)/9

3. Sum of first n odd nos is n2

4. Sum of first n even nos n(n+1)

5. Sum of squares of first n natural no’s is n(n+1)(2n+1)/6

Staff Selection Commission has issued the notification for Combined Graduate Level(CGL) Examination, 2016. The SSC CGL 2016 Tier-I exam will be held on SUNDAY the 8th & 22nd May, 2016. Check out the complete details and changes in SSC CGL 2016 notification here.

Paper Pattern of SSC CGL 2016:

SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 Paper Pattern:

The recruitment exam will be of 2 hours and 200 marks consisting four sections of 50 marks each viz.

1) English: Easy to average in difficulty level.
2) Maths: Average to tough in difficulty level.
3) Reasoning : Easy.
4) General Awareness: Average to Tough in difficulty level.

There will be negative marking of .25 marks.

SSC CGL 2016 Tier 2(Mains) Exam Paper Pattern:

1) Numerical/Quantitative Aptitude: 100 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours
2) English Language: 200 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours

Section A) English Language:

1) General English by Lucent Publications: This is my personal favorite book for English language and by far the best book available in the market for the preparation of all entrance exams. The topics in this books are explained in both English and Hindi language for easy understanding. So, this book is even good for students who come from Hindi medium schools. All the concepts are explained in a step by step manner and properly. There are Hundreds of rules of English grammar that are explained in this book, so you can score really good marks in the English section.

2) English for General Competitions from Plinth to Paramount: Paramount Coaching Centre is a well known coaching centre in Delhi. Now, you can buy its books online.

3) SSC English Language Chapterwise Solved Papers 1997-Till Date: All the English language questions asked in the last 17 years in all SSC exams. This is a really helpful book as SSC repeats many questions from its previous years’ papers.

Section B) General Intelligence and Reasoning:

1) A Modern Approach To Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal: It is an exhaustive book that covers all topics of reasoning in detail. This book is enough to prepare for reasoning section.

2) SSC Reasoning Chapterwise Solved Papers 1999 Till Date: It contains Chapter wise Compilation of reasoning questions of Previous Years’ Papers of all Exams Conducted by SSC (CGL, CHSL ,FCI ,Delhi Police,SI etc.).

3) Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey (BSC Publication): If you want to prepare more for reasoning section, this is also a great book.

Section C) General Awareness: General Awareness is a tricky section. No matter how much you prepare for this, still it is difficult to score very good marks. So my advice to all the candidates would be to focus on current affairs more, there would be around 10-15 questions of current affairs only and for the rest of the part, read one of the books given below.
Also, don’t waste your time preparing much for this section. First you need to focus on other three sections, then only come to preparation of this section.

1) Lucent’s General Knowledge 4th Edition: A comprehensive book that covers an exhaustive range of topics such as History, Geography, Economy, Polity, Science, etc.

2) General Knowledge 2014: Essential ‘Knowledge Capsule’ in General Awareness and Current Affairs by Manohar Pandey(Arihant Publications) I strongly recommend this book as you can do it within a week and it covers the entire General awareness in a concise manner.

3) SSC General Awareness Chapterwise Solved Papers (1997 – till date): Chapter wise solved previous years’ questions of general awareness section of all SSC exams.

D) Numerical Aptitude/Maths: For mathematics, I would suggest you to prepare from 3-4 books. The more you practice, the more you would be solve difficult questions in quick time.
In SSC CGL exam, it is very important that you solve maths’ questions quickly to score good marks.

1) Quantitative Aptitude For Competitive Examinations by R. S. Aggarwal One of the best book for basic Quantitative/Numerical Aptitude. It will help you learn all the basics of mathematics.

2) Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Arihant: This is another great book for basic Mathematics to improve your speed and efficiency with thousands of shortcuts. It covers all the topics with so many formulas, concepts, shortcuts, examples and thousands of questions to practice. Between RS Aggarwal and this book, I would suggest to go for this book.

3) SSC All Graduate Level Exams Solved Papers 1997 Upto Date: Chapter wise solved questions from all SSC exams(CGL, CHSL, etc.) from 1997 up to now.

4) Quantum CAT: Quantitative Aptitude Common Admission Test for Admission Into IIMs by Sarvesh K Verma(Arihant): If you don’t want to leave anything, this is another great book for high level mathematics.

6) Mathematics (Class 10) 7th Edition by R D Sharma: Let’s go back to school. As SSC questions are class 10th level, this book is really useful and it can also help you to clear your basics about Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration, Algebra, etc.

7) Arithmetic for General Competitions – By Paramount: Amazing Book for arithmetic by Paramount Coaching Centre.

LIC AAO 2016: Exam Analysis, Cutoff, Result & Interview

LIC conducted the LIC AAO 2016 online written exam all over India in March 2016 and here is the analysis of the exam.

LIC AAO 2016: Exam Analysis:

There were 160 questions in the exam which were divided under five sections, namely, Mathematics, Reasoning, English, GA & Computer. The English was qualifying in nature. The reasoning and Quant carries 3 marks per question whereas GK and computer carries 2 marks each.

Overall the exam was Easy as we asked many students.

IRDA Junior Officer 2016 Exam Review, Result, Cutoff, Phase 2 & Interview

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) conducted the first phase of the written online objective exam of Junior Officers on Feb 27, 2016. Many candidates all over India gave the exam.

IRDA Junior Officer 2016 Exam Review:

The exam was divided into four sections viz English, Reasoning, Maths and GK of 40 questions each. The total time was 100 minutes. The difficulty level of the exam was moderate.

IRDA Junior Officer 2016 Exam Result & Cutoff:

The result of the Phase 1 written exam will be announced within two weeks. The cutoff is expected to go very high as there are only 24 vacancies. Usually, for Phase 2 exam, number of shortlisted candidates are 1:20.

► Debit Card
• Debit Card means the card which can be used to withdraw cash up to the limit present in customer’s bank account.
• So to get issue a debit card, one should have a bank account.
• This means that debit cards are only issued by banks which are linked to the customer’s bank account number.
• So, in the case to use a debit card, one should have enough balance in his bank account.
• They are used to withdraw cash from ATM, purchase of goods and services at Point of Sale (POS)/E-commerce (online purchase) both domestically and internationally (provided it is enabled for international use).
• It can also be used only for domestic fund transfer from one person to another.

► Credit Card
• Unlike debit cards, in case of credit cards, a customer can also withdraw beyond the amount of money present in his bank account.
• But there is a limit for each credit card up to which extra money can be withdrawn.
• And also there is a time limit up to which the extra money withdrawn should be paid back. This amount of money is paid back along with interest charges as applied by the issuer of card.
• They are issued by banks / other entities approved by RBI.
• The credit cards are used for purchase of goods and services at Point of Sale (POS) and E-commerce (online purchase)/ through Interactive Voice Response (IVR)/Recurring transactions/ Mail Order Telephone Order (MOTO).
• These cards can be used domestically and internationally (provided it is enabled for international use).
• The credit cards can be used to withdraw cash from an ATM and for transferring funds to bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards within the country.

► Prepaid Card
• The usage of prepaid cards depends on who has issued these cards. They can be issued by banks/non-banks.
• To get issue a prepaid card, the customer has to pay the amount in advance which is then stored in his prepaid card to be used whenever required.
• So a prepaid card is never linked to an account.
• The maximum value that can be stored in a prepaid card at any point of time is Rs 50,000.
• The prepaid cards issued by the banks can be used to withdraw cash from an ATM, purchase of goods and services at Point of Sale (POS)/E-commerce (online purchase) and for domestic fund transfer from one person to another. Such prepaid cards are known as open system prepaid cards.
• However, the prepaid cards issued by authorised non-bank entities can be used only for purchase of goods and services at Point of Sale (POS)/E-commerce (online purchase) and for domestic fund transfer from one person to another. Such prepaid cards are known as semi-closed system prepaid cards.
• These cards can be used only domestically.

How To Find Squares of Numbers ending in 5 Very Fast

Finding Squares of Numbers ending in 5 in less than 5 seconds!!!

The Square of numbers ending in 5 can be easily calculated in few seconds. In five seconds you will be able to solve in a single line.
.
The answer comes in two parts. LHS and RHS. The RHS is always 25. Because for all the numbers ending in 5, the last two digits of its square will be 25.
.
Example 1:
What is Square of 45?
Step 1: Divide 45 into 4 / 5.
Step 2 (LHS): The next consecutive digit of 4 is 5. So Multiply 4 with 5. ie 20.
Step 3: 20/Square of 5 ie 25 (RHS is always 25)
Answer is 2025.

Example 2:
What is the Square of 65?
Step 1: 6 / 5.
Step 2: 6 x 7 = 42. (LHS)
Step 3: 42 / 25
The Answer is 4225
.
Example 3:
What is the Square of 95?
Step 1: 9 / 5
Step 2: 9 x 10 = 90 (LHS)
Step 3: 90 / 25
The Answer is 9025
.
Similarly,
Square of 25 = 2 x 3 / 5 x 5 = 6 / 25 = 625.
Square of 125 = 12 x 13/ 5 x 5 = 156 / 25 = 15625.
Square of 505 = 50 x 51/ 5 x 5 = 2550 / 25 = 255025.
